How do you charge?

We prefer to provide our clients with a project estimate, mainly because it makes it clear up front for everyone involved. We can also work on an hourly charge, if that suits you better. With a project fee, 50% is due up front as a deposit, and the rest on completion. If we are charging by the hour, you'll get an invoice for whatever we've done each month until the project is finished.

What does a project fee include?

Each estimate we do for a project includes a briefing session, two full drafts and three rounds of changes.

Do I need to provide a brief?

Not in the traditional sense, no. We actually find it's easier to get what we need by holding a briefing session – preferably face to face, but we can also do Skype or over the phone –  so we can learn about the business, your audience, your message and your specific needs for that project. It gives us the chance to ask questions and we can get a lot more information that way. We'll also work with your core informatin in any way that it suits you to provide it – notes, bullet points, a brain dump, or a very rough draft.

What if I don't like the copy?

Our entire process is very consultative and that's because we're essentially writing words to put in your mouth, so you need to be comfortable with them. The first thing we'll provide you is a draft which is nowhere near finished. This is so that we can check we're heading in the right direction and change things before too much time has been spent perfecting it. We'll consult with you all the way so that what you're left with is best for your business needs.

Do I hold copyright?

Until you sign off the final copy, evbmedia owns copyright so that only the best and final version makes it out into the public arena. But once you've signed it off, it's yours to do with as you see fit.
