initial consultationEvery new client relationship starts with a face-to-face (or Skype if you’re out of town) meeting. It helps us understand more about your business, your target market and what you may need from us. It’s also a good opportunity to meet us and put a face to a name. Before the meeting we’ll get you to fill in a short questionnaire to get the more basic information out of the way, then you can choose to visit our Ponsonby office or we'll to come to you. That initial meeting should take around an hour and is free. |

quoteEvery job is different, so we create an estimate for each job as we go. We take into consideration what’s involved in finishing the job, including other contractors that may be needed, your deadline as well as what you want to use the copy for. This estimate will be with you within three working days of our initial consultation. As a general rule we work to a project cost rather than an hourly rate as that’s what the majority of our clients prefer. |

first draftWe need to start somewhere, and how we receive that initial information is up to you. We can work with loose pieces of paper, bullet points, a brain dump, or an interview – whatever is the easiest way for you to get what’s in your head down on paper. The first draft is nowhere near perfect, it’s to check that we’re heading in the right direction. |

changes and follow-up draftsFrom there it’s a matter of incorporating your changes until you’re happy with the results. This is done via email or phone unless there are major rewrites required. |

sign-offThe decision over when the job is ready is yours. The important thing is that you’re confident in the piece of writing and feel excited about using it to promote your business. Once we get sign-off via email we can release the material to you. We offer an archiving service where we can keep your files for up to two years for easy access or as a base for future work. |
